Princess Players Advantage Explained: No Tiers, Real Certificates

Last reviewed: October 2026

Princess Players Advantage is unusual in one important way: there is no tier ladder. Princess’s own FAQ states that Prestige “is not a status.” Instead of climbing tiers, you unlock two specific things: Drinks On Us at 1,500 points on the current sailing, and Sea You Soon certificates for future voyages.

The earn rate is player-reported, not published

The figures we carry are $2 of slot coin-in per point and $5 per point on video poker. Both come from multiple first-hand player reports, the most recent dated 17 November 2025. Princess does not state either number anywhere we could find.

Two things make that gap matter more than usual.

First, Princess has already changed the slot rate once without announcing it. The rate was roughly $2.50 per point until about October 2024, then quietly became $2. Players discovered the change; Princess did not publish it.

Second, Princess’s terms explicitly reserve the right to change the ratio without notice. So the number is both unconfirmed and formally subject to change at any time.

At $2 per point, Princess ties Carnival and Holland America for the richest reported slot earn rate at sea. That is genuinely good. It is just not a number you can hold Princess to.

”Prestige is not a status”

Most casino programs sell you a ladder. Princess does not have one.

There are no published point thresholds, no named tiers you accumulate toward, and no tier-year reset date to plan around, because there is nothing to reset. Princess’s FAQ is direct about it.

That has an upside and a downside. The upside: you never lose a tier, and there is no cost of chasing casino status to fall into, because there is no status to chase. The downside: you cannot forecast anything. What you receive is discretionary and host-driven.

Drinks On Us at 1,500 points

This is the one threshold Princess does publish, and it is worth knowing precisely because the fine print does the work.

Hit 1,500 points on your current sailing and drinks in the casino are on the house for the rest of that cruise. Three constraints:

  • It applies to the current sailing only. Nothing carries over.
  • Waiter service only. You order from a server in the casino, not at a bar elsewhere on the ship.
  • It resets to zero on your next cruise.

At the reported $2 per point, 1,500 points means about $3,000 of slot coin-in. Cycling $3,000 through a cruise slot at measured RTP of 83% to 91% implies expected losses of roughly $270 to $510. The drinks are real, but so is that number, and the drinks are worth considerably less.

Sea You Soon: published, but only as pictures

Sea You Soon awards a stateroom plus FreePlay on a future voyage, on a nine-rung ladder that scales with voyage length. A longer cruise costs more points than a shorter one at the same cabin category.

Princess does publish the full chart. The catch is that it exists only as images, which means it has never been searchable, has never been indexed, and cannot be quoted from a text source. That is why so much of what circulates about Sea You Soon online is approximate.

Because the ladder scales with voyage length, the arithmetic of splitting your play across sailings genuinely changes the answer. Our piece on two short cruises versus one long one works through that comparison.

Enrolment and tier matching

Enrolment is automatic through the Medallion. You do not sign up separately, which is a real convenience and means play is tracked from the first spin.

Princess also offers a tier match. Since Princess has no tiers of its own, what a match actually produces in practice is an offer rather than a status. Bring documentation of your existing status elsewhere and ask.

The honest summary

Princess pairs the best reported earn rate at sea with the least forecastable program. You earn fast, and then you wait to see what arrives in the mail.

If you want a program you can calculate, look at the lines that publish certificate ladders. If you are sailing Princess anyway, track your own spending rather than relying on the program to tell you where you stand.
