Boyd Rewards: Points, Tiers and Casino Comps Explained
Boyd Rewards, formerly B Connected, links 27 casinos in 10 states. Here is how Boyd Points differ from Tier Credits, what each tier requires, and which benefits are national versus property-specific.

The one-minute version
- Boyd Rewards is the current name. B Connected is the former brand. We retained this page's established URL so old links and bookmarks still reach the updated guide.
- There are two separate balances. Boyd Points have redemption value. Tier Credits only determine status and cannot be cashed out or converted to FastPlay.
- Boyd Points are worth 0.1¢ each. The published conversion is 1,000 points = $1 for FastPlay or eligible retail value.
- Reward-point earning begins at Sapphire. Ruby members can receive play-based offers and discounts but do not yet earn redeemable Boyd Points.
- Tier Credit earning is variable. Boyd bases it on factors such as the game, denomination, time played and, at tables, average bet. It does not publish one national dollars-per-credit formula.
- Upper tiers include travel. Emerald and above receive quarterly stay offers and an annual Holland America Line cruise benefit, subject to availability and detailed restrictions.

All participating Boyd locations feed one account, but an offer sent by one property may be valid only at that property. Boyd also says benefits vary by location. Treat a local dining discount, birthday benefit or lounge privilege as a property benefit unless the national chart says otherwise.

These are base Boyd Point rates for members who have reached Sapphire. Select earning rates can vary by property. Promotions and personalized offers sit outside this base return and should be valued separately.
Price the published machine-play rebate
This calculator uses Boyd's current published base rates: $1 of reel-slot coin-in or $2 of video-poker coin-in per Boyd Point, with 1,000 points worth $1. It assumes the player has reached Sapphire. Live table play returns “n/a” because Boyd does not publish a national rating-to-comp formula.

The five Boyd Rewards tiers

The earning year runs January 1 through December 31. A new tier activates as soon as the required credits post and remains available for the rest of that year and the following year. Tier Credits then reset on January 1 for the next qualification cycle.
Onyx+ is not a sixth tier. It is an additional recognition program for qualifying Onyx members who earn 100,000–199,999 Tier Credits, with an expanded annual gift choice.
How Tier Credits are earned
Boyd does not publish a single coin-in conversion for Tier Credits. Its current chart describes machine earning as based on the game, denomination and time played. Live table ratings use the game, average bet and time played. Bingo and selected online or social activity can also contribute where available.
- Insert the card before machine play. Confirm the display recognizes the account before wagering.
- Hand the card to the dealer for live tables. Ask whether the rating is open and verify it closes correctly.
- Do not reverse-engineer tiers from Boyd Points. The balances are calculated differently.
- Check the local property rules. Boyd explicitly allows earning rates and tier benefits to vary.
Quarterly stay benefit
Emerald, Onyx and Titanium members receive a quarterly offer at selected Boyd destinations. Players who primarily visit Las Vegas are generally offered a Midwest or South destination; players based in the Midwest or South are generally offered Las Vegas. Offers are capacity controlled and appear in the member's account.

This is a fare benefit, not a cost-free vacation. Members remain responsible for government taxes and fees, cruise fees, transportation, gratuities, shore excursions and incidental spending. Boyd's current terms require a $100-per-guest deposit for the first two guests, returned as onboard credit. Availability and sailing lists are restricted, and the annual benefit must be booked by year-end.
Offers, mailers and hosts
Personalized free play, rooms and food offers are based on tracked play rather than tier alone. Boyd says an offer normally belongs to the property that issued it unless its terms name additional locations. That makes consistent card use important, but it does not justify playing longer solely to trigger an unknown future mailer.
- Keep contact information current so direct-mail and email offers reach you.
- Compare each offer with the travel and play it requires, especially cross-market hotel offers.
- Ask a Boyd Rewards desk to evaluate your play if you believe you may qualify for a host.
- Use the online account for balances, offers, win/loss statements and eligible tax forms.
Stardust and digital earning
Boyd connects the rewards account to selected digital products. The current national site says eligible Stardust Social Casino purchases can earn Boyd Points and Tier Credits, and it lists real-money Stardust Casino availability in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Participation and earning rules depend on location and product, so check the displayed terms before assigning value to digital play.
Is Boyd Rewards status worth chasing?
Sapphire is the first meaningful mechanical threshold because redeemable Boyd Point earning begins there. Emerald is the first large travel threshold because the quarterly stay and Holland America benefit begin there. Whether either is worth pursuing depends on the expected cost of the additional play and whether you would use the benefits at their real out-of-pocket value.
- Count only benefits you will use. A cruise cabin or distant hotel stay is not worth its retail price if you would not otherwise book it.
- Price fixed value separately from offers. Boyd Points have a published conversion; future mailers do not.
- Watch the calendar. Late-year tier progress has different practical value from credits earned just after January 1.
- Never increase expected loss for a rebate. The slot return is a small fraction of coin-in and does not overcome the house edge.

Is B Connected now Boyd Rewards?
Yes. Boyd Gaming's current casino loyalty program is called Boyd Rewards. This guide keeps its older B Connected URL so existing bookmarks and links continue to work.
How much are Boyd Points worth?
Boyd publishes a redemption value of 1,000 Boyd Points for $1 in FastPlay or eligible retail value. That makes one Boyd Point worth one tenth of one cent at the published conversion.
When do Boyd Points expire?
Boyd Points expire after six months of inactivity. Tier Credits follow a separate calendar and reset every January 1.
What are the Boyd Rewards tiers?
The five tiers are Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Onyx and Titanium. The published annual thresholds are 750 Tier Credits for Sapphire, 15,000 for Emerald, 50,000 for Onyx and 200,000 for Titanium.
Does Boyd Rewards include a cruise benefit?
Yes. Emerald, Onyx and Titanium members receive an annual Holland America Line sailing benefit, subject to availability and program terms. The published cabin category rises from Inside at Emerald to Ocean View at Onyx and Verandah at Titanium.
