Caesars Rewards: Comps & Points, Explained

The one-minute version

Two currencies. Reward Credits are spendable (≈1¢ each toward rooms, dining, and free play). Tier Credits only move you up the ladder (Gold → Platinum → Diamond → Seven Stars) — they buy status, not stuff.
Slots earn on coin-in. Base rate ≈ 1 Reward Credit per $10 of slot coin-in — about 0.1% of everything you cycle through the machine, win or lose. Video poker earns at roughly half that.
Tables earn on your rating. The pit tracks average bet × time; comps come back as a share of your theoretical loss (~20% is a common planning number), at a host's or the system's discretion.
The network is the product. One card works from the Strip to regional properties — status earned at your local casino follows you to Las Vegas.

Theo (theoretical loss) is what the casino expects to win from this play — average bet × decisions per hour × hours × house edge. Comps return a slice of that theo. A bigger comp always means more expected loss behind it: comps reduce the cost of play — they never make it profitable.

Reading your results

Slot play looks generous in points but runs on a bigger house edge; rated table play earns "invisibly" (no points ticker) but a decent pit rating on a low-edge game is often the better exchange. The number to compare is the effective rebate — comp value as a share of theo — and the number to respect is the net expected cost: comps rebate expected losses; they never erase them.

Maximizing without overpaying

Never bet up for status. Tier Credits are priced so that chasing them costs more in theo than the perks return. Earn the tier your natural play produces.
Concentrate play on one card. Splitting play across programs halves your mailer value — offers are driven by your tracked average daily theo.
Use the multiplier days. Promotional point multipliers change the math meaningfully — recompute with the Advanced panel when one is running.
Always get rated at tables. Unrated play generates zero comps at the same expected cost.
