Stake.us Review (2026)
A sweepstakes social casino we tested end-to-end — including a real cash-out. Here's what's genuinely good, and the caveats (21+, limited states) you should know before you sign up.
Last reviewed: June 2026
The verdict. Stake.us is a credible, genuinely redeemable sweepstakes casino. We created an account, played with both Gold Coins and Stake Cash, and completed a real redemption — the cash-out worked. Its weak spots are availability (21+, and ~21 states excluded), not the product itself.
Best for: eligible-state players, 21 and over, who want a free-to-play casino with a real path to cashing out — and who don't mind a thorough ID/KYC check.
Scorecard
We score every operator on the same published 100-point rubric, weighted toward consumer protection (trust, redemption, responsible play) so it can't be gamed by the flashiest bonus. The written review below is what matters — the score is just a summary.
| Criterion | Score | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Trust & Transparency / 25 | 20 | Registered operator (Sweepsteaks Ltd, Delaware-governed terms), clear ToS, does not sell personal data — but an offshore entity and a binding-arbitration / class-action waiver cost it points. |
| Redemption / Prize Process / 20 | 18 | We completed a Stake Cash cash-out at ≈1 SC = $1; smooth once ID/KYC was done. No limit on the number of withdrawals; the friction is the ID/KYC step, a $50 SC minimum per request, and a ~2% bank-withdrawal fee. |
| Responsible-Play Controls / 15 | 11 | Self-exclusion, time-outs and limits are available, with standard visibility. |
| Promotions: Clarity & Value / 15 | 12 | Genuine no-purchase path (daily login coins, social giveaways, a postcard AMOE for 5 SC) and honest headline framing. |
| Eligibility & Availability / 10 | 6 | Excluded states are clearly listed, but 21+ and ~21 excluded states (incl. CA, NY, IL, PA, MI) genuinely limit who can play. |
| Customer Support / 10 | 8 | We contacted support during testing and got a helpful, responsive reply. |
| Payments & Options / 5 | 4 | Redemption in crypto or FIAT gives real flexibility; the ~2% bank fee is the main drawback. |
| Overall | 79 / 100 | Strong, with availability caveats. |
What is Stake.us?
Stake.us is a sweepstakes social casino — a free-to-play model that's legally distinct from real-money online gambling. You play with virtual currencies, and no purchase is ever required to win redeemable prizes. It runs on two currencies, and understanding the difference is the single most important thing before you sign up.
Gold Coins vs. Stake Cash
- Gold Coins (GC) — purely for fun. They have no monetary value and can never be redeemed for prizes (ToS cl. 7.1). This is the currency you'll mostly play with.
- Stake Cash (SC) — the sweepstakes currency. Stake Cash can be redeemed for prizes (crypto or cash) at roughly 1 SC ≈ $1 (ToS cl. 13.4–13.5).
You get Stake Cash free — through a daily login bonus, social-media giveaways, or a mail-in postcard request (the AMOE — about 5 SC per request). You can also buy Gold Coin packages that include bonus Stake Cash, but you never have to. Note that purchased and bonus Stake Cash carries a 3× playthrough before it can be redeemed (ToS cl. 13.1).
Is Stake.us available in your state?
This is the biggest catch. Stake.us is 21+ (ToS cl. 4.2) and available across the continental US plus Hawaii — but it excludes about 21 states, including some of the largest: California, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Michigan (plus WA, NV, ID, KY, VT, NJ, DE, WV, RI, CT, MD, LA, MT, AZ, TN, and Alaska). Florida is eligible. The full excluded list is in the Stake.us Terms of Service (cl. 2.1). Check your own state before you sign up:
Redeeming your winnings
This is where many sweepstakes sites disappoint — so we tested it ourselves. We completed a Stake Cash redemption in June 2026, and it worked. The process and limits:
- Rate: Stake Cash redeems at roughly 1 SC ≈ $1, in crypto or regular (FIAT) currency.
- ID verification (KYC): thorough — it includes document ID and a biometric facial check. Standard for the industry, but expect to complete it before your first cash-out.
- Limits & fees: you can withdraw as often as you like — there's no cap on the number of requests, and we found no published daily maximum in the current terms. In our June 2026 test each request met a $50 Stake Cash minimum, and bank (FIAT) withdrawals carried a ~2% fee (≈ $0.98 per $1 of Stake Cash). Crypto withdrawals instead pay the network fee for whichever coin you redeem, which varies by coin.
Our take: once KYC was done, the cash-out was smooth — the main friction is the verification step and the small bank fee, not the payout itself.
Promotions & how to play for free
Stake.us is genuinely no-purchase-necessary (ToS cl. 2.3). The free ways to get Stake Cash:
- Daily login bonus — Gold Coins plus Stake Cash, just for showing up.
- Social giveaways — periodic drops on Stake's social channels.
- Postcard AMOE — mail in a request for about 5 SC, no purchase (ToS cl. 8.2–8.3).
Responsible play
Stake.us is strictly 21+ and offers self-exclusion, time-outs, and limit tools (ToS cl. 15.2, 6.5). Sweepstakes play is meant to be entertainment, not income. If gambling stops being fun, free confidential help is available 24/7 at 1-800-MY-RESET. See our responsible-gambling resources.
Trust, safety & the fine print
Stake.us is operated by Sweepsteaks Limited (a Cyprus company, reg. HE436222), with terms governed by Delaware law. Two things to know before you agree:
- The terms include binding arbitration and a class-action waiver — though you can opt out of arbitration within 30 days of registering (ToS cl. 26).
- Verification collects sensitive data including biometric (facial) information. On the plus side, Stake's privacy policy states it does not sell personal information and retains biometric data for no more than three years.
Customer support
We reached out to support during our testing and got a helpful, reasonably quick response. It's a solid showing, if not a standout.
Bottom line
If you're 21+ in an eligible state, Stake.us is one of the more credible sweepstakes casinos we've used: free to play, with a redemption path that actually works. Just go in clear-eyed about the 21+ requirement, the excluded states, and the ID/KYC you'll complete before your first cash-out.
