The Blue Chip Club Certificate Ladder

Last reviewed: October 2026

Celebrity publishes a 12-rung casino certificate ladder as monthly PDFs on its own domain. The bottom rung is 600 points for a comped interior stateroom for one guest. The top is 40,000 points for a Sky Suite for two with $2,500 of FreePlay attached.

Celebrity and Royal Caribbean are the only two cruise casino programs that publish a certificate ladder at all. Carnival does not. That makes Blue Chip Club one of the few places where you can price a comped cabin in advance instead of waiting for a host to decide.

Converting the rungs to coin-in

Blue Chip Club slots earn one point per $5 of coin-in, video poker one per $15. So every rung carries a wagering price.

PointsSlot coin-in at $5/ptVideo poker coin-in at $15/pt
600$3,000$9,000
5,000$25,000$75,000
15,000$75,000$225,000
40,000$200,000$600,000

The bottom rung is the useful one to reason about. A comped interior for one guest at 600 points is $3,000 of slot coin-in. Put $3,000 through a shipboard slot machine and the expected cost, before any comp, is meaningfully more than a discounted interior cabin is worth. Certificates reduce a loss. They do not turn one into a gain. Free cruise certificates explained walks that arithmetic through in general.

The FreePlay attached to higher rungs

Higher certificates bundle FreePlay with the cabin, topping out at $2,500 on the 40,000-point Sky Suite offer. Treat bundled FreePlay carefully. It is wagering credit, not cash, so its real value depends on the machine and the paytable you spend it on, and on whether you can walk away with what survives the required play. Our FreePlay explained page covers the discount.

The rule that catches couples

Same-stateroom guests may not combine points toward one certificate. If two people share a cabin and each earns 350 points, they have two 350-point balances, not one 700-point balance. Neither reaches the 600-point rung.

For couples who genuinely want a certificate, the implication is that concentrating play on one card gets there and splitting it does not. That is a real structural fact worth knowing, though it is worth saying plainly that concentrating play does not reduce the house edge on any of it.

The monthly PDF is the source of truth

The ladder is republished monthly, and the eligible sailings change with it. A rung you qualified for in March may map to different itineraries in June. Before treating a certificate as booked value:

  • Pull the current month’s PDF from Celebrity’s own site rather than a forum screenshot.
  • Confirm the sailing list, the booking window, and the expiry.
  • Assume taxes, port fees and gratuities are yours to pay unless the document says otherwise.

Our Blue Chip certificate calculator maps a point total to its rung, and the program data page marks which figures are official versus secondary.

Do not forget the sailing-end expiry

Blue Chip Reward Points expire at the end of each sailing if unredeemed, so certificate qualification is a within-sailing race, not a season-long accumulation. See Blue Chip Club explained for how tier credit and Reward Points run on separate clocks.

What is not published

Celebrity does not publish a point-to-FreePlay conversion rate, and it does not publish its table-rating formula. Table play is assessed from game type, average bet and observed time, with the internal multipliers undisclosed. We would rather flag those gaps than fill them with a plausible-sounding number.
