What state law says
Wyoming gambling law is governed by the Wyoming State Pari-Mutuel Commission and the Wyoming Gaming Commission (for sports betting). Wyoming legalized online sports betting in 2021 (Wyo. Stat. § 0-4-201 et seq.), has a state lottery, and allows tribal gaming under a single compact with the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes. Wyoming does not have commercial casinos.
Wyoming Statute § 6-7-101 et seq. addresses illegal gambling. The Wyoming Gaming Commission’s authority covers licensed sports betting operators; no equivalent oversight body exists for online casino-style games. The Wyoming Gaming Commission has not issued guidance or enforcement actions targeting dual-currency sweepstakes casino platforms.
Recent developments
No legislation targeting dual-currency sweepstakes casinos has been introduced in the Wyoming Legislature as of June 2026. Wyoming’s small population and limited gaming infrastructure have not generated the same licensed-market pressure that led to enforcement in states like Michigan and New Jersey.
