The one-minute version

Points are earned on coin-in — officially 1 point per $5 through the slots and 1 per $15 on video poker (recently raised from $10). Table play is rated by the pit (average bet × time) with no published formula. Poker, Key Master and the cranes earn nothing.
Points do double duty. The same points convert to same-sailing slot FreePlay (player-verified ≈2¢/point — converting does not reduce your progress) and count toward instant certificates and your annual tier. Unconverted points expire when the sailing ends. Everyone also starts with a small welcome FreePlay credit (~$2, sometimes more).
Instant cruise certificates are the real prize. Cross a point threshold during your sailing and a letter shows up at your stateroom. The flyer runs a full ladder of 13 offer codes — from ~$100 off at 400 points up to the VIP offer at 40,000 — with a free interior appearing on short sailing lists around 1,200 and better cabins/itineraries as you climb (pass ~2,500 and you also lock Prime tier for the year). Tiers run April 1 – March 31: Prime (2,500 pts — annual free interior cruise + free casino drinks), Signature (25,000 — annual balcony), Masters (100,000 — annual Grand Suite). Two recent rule changes worth knowing: guest 2 is now discounted rather than free on many offers (Dec 2024), and comp cruises book from a curated eligible-sailings list (Apr 2026).

Reading your results

The trap on a cruise ship is the same as on land, amplified: the casino is steps away, the drinks flow at Prime, and the certificate ladder is engineered to be almost in reach. Maximizing without overpaying

Convert your points to FreePlay before disembarking. It's additive — conversion doesn't slow your certificate or tier progress, and unconverted points evaporate at the end of the sailing.
Check the flyer on day one. Offers vary by sailing and month; knowing the rungs before you play beats discovering them on the last night.
Certificates near your natural play are gifts; rungs above it are purchases. Run the goal-seek number before chasing.
Slots vs video poker: VP's lower house edge makes its theo cheaper per point-dollar even at the $15 rate — but check the paytable; cruise VP is usually short-pay.
Book the certificate window. Certificates have historically required redemption within ~30 days of disembarking — don't let one expire.
